3rd Students Meeting , 29/1/2025
It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot about the benefits of the forest.
We have added some of the most common forest animals and we have also added the Azores bat (Nyctalus azoreum), which makes its home in the trees of our forests.
We welcomed senior technician Hélder Xavier from the Department of Environment and Climate Action to lead a session within the scope of the “Offer of Environmental Awareness Activities for Schools, for 2024-2025” with a session that introduced us to the Azores bat.
The students listened to a children's story and a song about bats and were able to learn more about the life cycle of the Azores bat (Nyctalus azoreum), its main characteristics, habitats and threats. The objective was to raise awareness among children about the preservation of this mammal endemic to the Region.
Each student chose a benefit, they colored a drawing about the chosen benefit and with all the drawings we created a poster.
An interactive letter is waiting for us!
We read the letter and went to discover the riddles.
We were able to answer all the riddles and were very happy and excited about the proposed activities.
